About LXT

LXT is an AI training data company in Toronto, Canada, founded in 2010. It collects and labels speech, text, image, and video data, and it helps with model fine-tuning, RLHF, and evaluation. Its clients include large tech companies and Fortune 500 firms. In December 2024 LXT agreed to buy Clickworker, a German crowd work platform founded in 2005, and it finished joining the two platforms in July 2025. LXT now says it has over 10 million contributors in 150+ countries and 1,000+ language locales. Its remote AI projects are short, one-language tasks: recording about 400 short prompts in a dialect such as Irish English, Swiss German, or Basque, or making about 10 short phone calls. One current project pays $60 to $140 for about 30 minutes of calls in Gulf Arabic. LXT also hires office transcribers in Mississauga and Bucharest, which we do not list.

How hiring works

  1. Apply to a project on LXT's job board on BambooHR. The form asks for your name, email, phone, home address, and a resume, and asks if you are a native speaker of the project language or dialect.
  2. Pass a language check. The Gulf Arabic post says all applicants take a short Arabic verification test, and only people who pass get access to the paid project.
  3. Do the work from home. Speech recording posts ask for about 400 short prompts, recorded on a computer with a microphone in a quiet room. Phone projects ask for about 10 short calls, some with an AI system and some from a script.
  4. Get paid once LXT accepts the finished work. Some projects, such as QA review, run through Clickworker and need a Clickworker account.

What workers say

Good

  • The Gulf Arabic post shows the pay up front: $60 to $140 for about 30 minutes of phone calls, with no experience needed.
  • LXT has worked since 2010, owns Clickworker, and says it works with top 10 global tech companies and Fortune 100 firms.
  • Glassdoor reviewers praise the work from home and the flexible hours, and 52% would recommend LXT to a friend.

Watch out for

  • Five of the six Trustpilot reviews of lxt.ai give 1 star. Reviewers in 2025 say they were not paid after they finished tasks, and that LXT did not answer their emails.
  • Most remote posts show no pay. The speech recording posts ask for about 400 recorded prompts but give no rate.
  • Glassdoor reviewers rate compensation and benefits 3.1 of 5. Some remote transcribers report a poor training system and a bad transcription platform.
