About Mindrift

Mindrift is the AI training platform of Toloka, an Amsterdam AI data company that has worked since 2014. Experts write prompts, rate AI answers, and rewrite them in their own field, such as STEM, coding, law, or design. Mindrift says it has more than 20,000 AI trainers in more than 90 domains and 20 languages, and that 70% hold a master's degree or PhD. There are two ways in: all-access tasks, open to anyone after sign-up, and specialized projects, which need a CV and tests. Mindrift posts its specialized roles on Workable, often once for each country.

How hiring works

  1. Apply to a project on mindrift.ai or on Mindrift's job board on Workable, with your CV. Some posts also ask for a portfolio and English at B2 or above.
  2. Pass the qualification tests for the project. These tests are unpaid. Reviewers say some projects also use an AI interview.
  3. Verify your identity with Persona. You must be 18 or older and live in a supported country.
  4. When the project is active, you get tasks on the platform and join its Discord. There are no fixed hours, but some posts estimate 10 to 20 hours a week.

What workers say

Good

  • 59% of Trustpilot reviews are 4 or 5 stars. Several reviewers say withdrawals arrive fast, and Mindrift replies to 97% of negative reviews.
  • Each task shows a fixed reward before you start, and Mindrift pays twice a month.
  • No fixed hours, and Toloka's terms let you work for other platforms, including competitors.

Watch out for

  • 27% of Trustpilot reviews are 1 star. The most common complaint is long, unpaid onboarding tests and then no tasks, or a project that closes.
  • Some reviewers say Mindrift blocked their account and held earned pay, and that support replied only through an AI chatbot.
  • Work comes in cycles. Mindrift says a project's end can bring "limited or no opportunities", and Toloka does not guarantee any minimum income.
