About DATAmundi
DATAmundi is a data and language services company in Kraków, Poland. Until April 2025 it was called Summa Linguae Technologies, and that is still its legal name. The new name comes from Datamundi, a Belgian language data company that Summa Linguae bought in December 2021. DATAmundi collects, labels, and checks speech, text, image, and video data for AI, and it also sells translation services. It has offices in Poland, Canada, the USA, India, and Sweden. Freelancers join through its DATAtalent platform, which says it has 263,000+ contributors in 88 countries and 200+ languages. Current projects include voice recording and transcription in rare languages such as Hmong, Kabyle, Tamazight, Sepedi, and Ilocano, photos of handwritten text in India, photos of objects in 20 countries, and an English CEFR rater role. It also runs paid in-person face video studies in San Francisco and Kraków.

How hiring works
- Find a project on DATAmundi's job board on BambooHR. Many posts send you to the DATAtalent platform or to a Microsoft Forms questionnaire. For those projects, DATAmundi does not review applications sent through BambooHR.
- Create a DATAtalent account. Give your country, date of birth, native language, education, and language experience, and add a resume if you want. Pass a short multiple-choice test on reading, grammar, logic, and math. The sign-up includes an NDA. Do not use a Yahoo email address.
- Verify your email. DATAmundi then emails you invitations to projects that match your profile. Some projects screen you first. The CEFR rater form asks about your degree, teaching experience, and expected rate. In-person studies can ask for a recent selfie.
- Follow the project instructions and submit your work before the deadline. You get paid after the work passes the quality review. You must fix and resend rejected work for no extra pay.
What workers say
Good
- Many posts show the rate up front: $10 an hour for Hmong recording and $12 an hour for transcription, $1.25 per handwritten photo in India, and $125 to $150 for one in-person study.
- DATAmundi has work in rare languages, such as Hmong, Kabyle, Tamazight, Sepedi, and Ilocano. Many projects need no experience and use only your phone.
- Testimonials on DATAmundi's own sites, from freelancers in Romania, Indonesia, Brazil, and other countries, praise on-time payment and helpful project managers. DATAmundi chose these quotes.
Watch out for
- There are no independent worker ratings. Trustpilot has no page for datamundi.ai, and its page for Summa Linguae S.A. has no reviews.
- Some projects ask for a lot of work: at least 15 hours of conversation, or 30 hours of recordings per person. One hour of audio can take up to 3 hours to transcribe.
- Many posts show no rate, such as Ilocano and Sepedi recording, US key tag cards, and object photos. The sign-up NDA bars you from taking work directly from DATAmundi's clients during the work and for 1 year after.

What is the DATAmundi Hmong voice recording project?
It is a remote project for native speakers of White Hmong. Each person records 30 hours of audio on a mobile phone: 70% conversations with a partner and 30% speaking alone, on topics from the client. You then transcribe your own recordings, with no translation. One hour of audio can take up to 3 hours to transcribe. It pays $10 per approved hour of recording and $12 per hour of transcription. Only work that passes the client's quality check is paid. The project needs 1,000 hours in total and runs for about 3 months. You join through DATAtalent. A Kabyle version pays $10 for each part.

Language jobs need native or fluent skill in that language. Coding jobs need real programming experience.
