About Welo Data
Welo Data is the AI data brand of Welocalize, a language services company founded in 1997. Welocalize launched Welo Data in May 2024. In April 2026 Welocalize made Welo Global its parent brand, with Welo Data as one of five brands. Welo Data makes training data and runs model evaluations for AI labs and other companies. It says it has 500,000+ experts in 100+ countries, with about 20,000 active raters each month. Most roles are remote freelance work in one language and one country: rating search results, ads, and map places, checking AI answers, rating translations, recording voice, and labeling robot video. It also hires onsite W2 employees in 12 US cities for Project Perseus. Many posts called AI Trainers Network are not open jobs. They add you to a talent pool, and Welo Data contacts you when a project fits.

How hiring works
- Apply to a post on Welo Data's job board on Lever and answer a few questions. Use a laptop or desktop, not a phone. Do not use a VPN, because Welo Data checks that you live in the country of the post.
- Create a Welo Works account with a one-time code from your email. Check your profile details, because you cannot change them later. Each account needs its own phone number.
- Take timed assessments in Welo Works: a language and culture test, then a task exam. Search rating posts add study guides and a client exam. Results come in 30 minutes to one week. Welo Data does not share pass marks, and you can retake a test only after 6 months.
- Verify your ID and tax details, sign the agreement and NDA, and set up payment. Then you start. Completing onboarding does not guarantee a project or a minimum amount of work.
What workers say
Good
- Many posts show the rate up front: $20.30 an hour for US map rating, $48 an hour for US English voice recording, and $34 an hour for onsite Project Perseus roles with benefits.
- Freelance raters set their own hours, for example 5 to 20 hours a week for ads rating. Indeed reviewers of the rater roles praise the remote work and flexible schedule.
- Welocalize publishes its payment terms: Welo Data invoices are paid in 14 days, and US payees pay no Hyperwallet fee. It says it never charges fees to apply.
Watch out for
- 95% of the 97 Trustpilot reviews of welocalize.com give 1 star. Many 2026 reviewers say Welo Data closed their accounts after a support ticket, an ID check, or a VPN warning, in some cases after hours of tests.
- Assessments are unpaid, and Welo Data does not share pass marks or wrong answers. Reviewers of welodata.ai on Trustpilot (2.4 of 5, 6 reviews) call the tests unpaid work.
- Pay depends on the country. Ads rating pays about $2.40 an hour in India, and Generative AI Analyst pays $3 an hour in Vietnam. Indeed reviewers say work volume is not steady.

Yes. Welo Data is the AI data brand of Welocalize, a language services company founded in 1997 and now part of Welo Global, led by CEO Paul Carr. It says it has 500,000+ contributors in 100+ countries. It hires only through its Lever job board and emails only from @welocalize.com, @welodata.ai, or @hire.lever.co. It never asks for fees. What is the Welo Data Project Hydrus job?
It is a remote voice recording project for people with acting or voice-over experience. If you pass the audition, you do two sessions of about 4 hours each, with a Session Director guiding you live. You read scripts and speak freely on a topic in one dialect. You need a professional USB or XLR microphone, closed-back headphones, and a quiet room. Laptop mics and earbuds are not accepted. Voice contributors earn $20 to $65 an hour, by language, for example $48 for US English. The recordings may be used to make AI voices, and you sign a consent form before the paid sessions.
What is an AI trainer job?
AI trainers help companies improve AI models. You review and rate model answers, write example answers, find mistakes, or record voice and video data. Experts in law, medicine, coding, languages, and other fields teach models how a professional thinks. Most of this work is remote, flexible, and paid by the hour.
Are AI trainer jobs remote?
Yes. Every job on this site is remote, and most have flexible hours. Some jobs accept people from certain countries only, so check the 🌍 location on each job before you apply.

Language jobs need native or fluent skill in that language. Coding jobs need real programming experience.
